Equipment Introduction

Filter cartridges serve as the core filtration components in pulse-jet cartridge dust collectors. Constructed with pleated filter media formed into a cylindrical shape, these cartridges utilize their folds to significantly expand the effective filtration area, enabling highly efficient gas-solid separation within a compact space. Widely used in equipment such as cartridge dust collectors, grinding dust extraction benches, and welding fume purifiers, these cartridges achieve dust removal efficiencies exceeding 99.5% and can reduce outlet emission concentrations to below 10 mg/m³. They are essential consumables for industrial dust control, welding fume purification, and the recovery of powdered materials.

Wood pulp fiber filter cartridge

Basic-type filter cartridge made of wood pulp fiber filter paper

Low cost; good initial filtration efficiency; suitable for typical dry dust.

Poor resistance to moisture; poor resistance to high temperatures; moderate adaptability to sticky dust.

Dry dust at ambient temperature; woodworking, light industry, sanding/grinding

Polyester fiber filter cartridge

Uses polyester non-woven fabric as the primary filter medium; the most common type of industrial filter cartridge.

High strength; good wear resistance; wide range of applications; high cost-performance ratio

Limited high-temperature resistance; special handling required for warm, humid environments.

Welding Fumes, Shot Blasting, Sandblasting, Metal Processing, Powder Conveying

Membrane-coated polyester filter cartridge

PTFE microporous membrane laminated onto a polyester substrate

Higher filtration precision; easy dust removal; excellent surface filtration performance; suitable for fine dust and stringent emission requirements.

Higher price than standard polyester; the film layer must be protected from damage by hard objects.

Welding fumes, ultrafine dust, pharmaceuticals, food, fine chemicals, high-standard emissions

Anti-static filter cartridge

Incorporation of conductive fibers into the filter medium or application of a conductive surface treatment.

Anti-static; reduces the risk of sparks; suitable for flammable and explosive dust.

Increased cost; not required for all operating conditions

Aluminum powder, magnesium powder, flour, coal dust, and flammable chemical dusts

Flame-retardant filter cartridge

The filter media are treated to be flame-retardant, delaying combustion and the spread of flames.

Higher safety; suitable for operating conditions with a risk of sparks

Priced higher than standard filter cartridges; not fully fireproof—must be used in conjunction with a spark arrestor.

Environments involving welding, cutting, grinding, sparks, and dust

PTFE filter cartridge

High-performance filter cartridges featuring a PTFE membrane or PTFE material as the core filtration layer

High corrosion resistance; good high-temperature resistance; high filtration efficiency; excellent dust-cleaning performance

High price; often used in high-end settings

Operating environments involving chemicals, pharmaceuticals, highly corrosive dust, or requirements for ultra-clean conditions

Application Areas

Supply of cartridge-type dust collectors and replacement consumables for industries including machining plants, metal foundries, auto parts factories, welding workshops, woodworking shops, grain processing plants, pharmaceutical plants, food processing facilities, chemical plants, new-energy battery manufacturers, and carbon production plants.

Product Advantages

High Filtration Efficiency: Filtration efficiency ≥99.5%; for membrane-coated types, outlet concentration ≤5 mg/m³, meeting the strictest emission standards.
Large Filtration Area: Pleated design; a single Φ325×660 filter cartridge provides an effective filtration area of 14㎡, allowing for a more compact equipment footprint.
Excellent Dust-Cleaning Performance: PTFE membrane-coated surface filtration prevents dust from penetrating the filter media; pulse-jet cleaning is thorough, ensuring stable operating resistance.
Wide Range of Materials: Six major series—wood pulp fiber, polyester, membrane-coated polyester, anti-static, flame-retardant, and PTFE—covering all types of operating conditions.
Comprehensive Structural Specifications: Available in cylindrical or conical shapes, with top-loading or bottom-loading configurations; over 12 standard sizes, compatible with mainstream domestic and international dust collectors.
Durable and Long-Lasting: High-strength filter media offers excellent wear resistance and durability against pulse-jet fatigue, with a service life of ≥1 year under normal operating conditions.
Easy Installation and Replacement: Features quick-release clamps or bolt-fastening designs, allowing for rapid replacement by a single person and resulting in low maintenance costs.

Can anti-static or flame-retardant filter cartridges, on their own, ensure safety regarding dust?

No. While anti-static filter cartridges can reduce the risk of static electricity accumulation and flame-retardant cartridges can delay combustion, this does not mean the entire system is explosion-proof or fully fireproof. When handling flammable or explosive dust, or in operating environments where sparks may be present, the filter cartridges, dust collection equipment, and associated safety configurations must be evaluated by the project designers.

How can I determine the dimensions of a filter cartridge and whether it is compatible with my existing equipment?

It is necessary to verify the filter cartridge’s outer diameter, inner diameter, height, end cap configuration, sealing method, and mounting structure, while also confirming the dimensions of the equipment’s tube sheet and available space. While a range of standard specifications is listed, customization based on equipment model, samples of existing filter cartridges, or technical drawings is also available. Please note that similar dimensions alone do not guarantee compatibility for installation.

What is the difference between standard polyester filter cartridges and membrane-coated filter cartridges?

Standard polyester filter cartridges are suitable for a wide range of typical industrial dusts. Membrane-coated polyester filter cartridges feature a microporous PTFE membrane bonded to the substrate surface; these are reportedly better suited for fine dust and applications with stricter emission requirements. The actual filtration performance, however, also depends on the specific characteristics of the dust, the equipment design, and operational parameters.

What are the common materials and types of filter cartridges?

Common types include wood pulp fiber, polyester fiber, membrane-coated polyester, anti-static, flame-retardant, and PTFE filter cartridges. Each filter medium offers specific advantages regarding moisture resistance, temperature tolerance, dust-cleaning performance, and anti-static properties; the choice should be based on the characteristics of the dust and the operating conditions of the equipment.

What role do dust filter cartridges play in the equipment?

Filter cartridges serve as the core filtration components in pulse-jet cartridge dust collectors, grinding dust extraction workstations, and welding fume purification equipment. Their pleated filter media create a folded structure that increases the filtration surface area within a confined space, enabling the capture of particulate matter from dust-laden air streams.
